Tata Sons is among India’s biggest conglomerates, and its chairman emeritus, Ratan Tata, died at 86. Tata was a well-known personality in business and philanthropy circles, and Ratan Tata death took the nation by shock. Just three days back, on Monday, the industrialist’s social media post dismissed all speculations concerning his health. Instead, he specified that he was merely undergoing a routine health checkup because of his age.
Ratan Tata death was announced by N Chandrasekaran, the chairman of Tata Sons, in a late-night statement on Wednesday. In his statement, Chandrasekaran hailed Tata’s resolute commitment to innovation, integrity, and excellence.
In his statement, Chandrasekaran specified what Tata meant to the country. He said that Tata’s immeasurable contributions have had a defining effect not just on the Tata Group. Instead, they have defined the nation’s fabric.
Chandrasekaran said that for Tata Group, Tata was more than a mere chairperson. He saw Tata as a guide and mentor, besides a friend.
It was under Tata’s stewardship, Chandrasekaran said, that Tata Group spanned its global footprint. But the conglomerate always did so while staying within the bounds of its moral compass.
Tributes poured in from across the industry upon the breaking of the news of Ratan Tata death and they were led by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. Modi defined Tata as an extraordinary human being and a compassionate soul.
In his tribute, Sh. Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha defined Tata as a man with a vision who left an enduring impact not just on business but also on philanthropy. He forwarded his condolences to the departed soul’s family and Tata community.
Similarly, Mr. Anand Mahindra, another well-recognized Indian industrialist said that he is not able to accept Mr. Tata’s absence and Ratan Tata death. At a juncture when India’s economy is at the cusp of a historic leap forward, Mr. Tata’s life and work have played an indispensable role in bringing the nation to this position.
Mahindra said that at this time, Tata’s guidance and mentorship would have been invaluable. He added that Mr. Tata was committed to redirecting his success and wealth for the welfare of the global community.
As for Mukesh Ambani, he defined Mr. Tata as one of India’s most illustrious and kind-hearted sons. He specified that for him, the loss of Mr. Tata was the loss of a dear friend. Ambani added that Tata’s passing away was a loss not just to Tata Group, but to every Indian.
